When Hayden asked me if he could be a "backhoe" this year for Halloween, I laughed. First of all, I thought it was hilarious that he knew what a backhoe was... second, this was not the first time he has wanted to be something unusual. I started formulating ideas, and when I really started putting it together, I knew he was going to want to play with it. I had to keep it up out of his reach until after Halloween, but as soon as November 1st arrived, it was fair game. He could do whatever he wanted with it. Of course it was the first thing he wanted to play with that morning, and he did. It continued every morning for the next several days... until it got pretty much destroyed. He didn't mind. It just became something different. He has quite the imagination, and I love it. Here he is playing with it (I think this was actually on my birthday) before the front scoop got completely ruined. I love this crazy kid! He was scooping up Hotwheels and other cars, as well as blocks and even food.

Hey I LOVE LOVE LOVE your family pics, how darling is the green!! You guys are so cute! So who does a photographer get to take her own pictures??? Or do you just set it up on timer and they turn out perfect like these!!
Yup... timer and tripod. If Hayden was any younger, I don't think it would work, but he's getting pretty cooperative. Everyone just watches the blinking light (and me running into place... that's pretty funny!)
dual purpose costumes! That's great. Hayden looks like he's having so much fun!
Hayden looks like he's having the time of his life!! Super fun!
