Did you know that if you leave a potato (or four) out the night before St. Patrick's Day, that a Leprechaun comes and leaves a little something as payment for the potatoes? My "sweet" sister Jodie told Eryn and Kaitlyn this special little secret when they were just little... and it started a tradition that I'm not sure I fully appreciate (thanks, Jo!) Anyway, we have this crazy little Leprechaun that shows up each year, leaving a box of Lucky Charms cereal and a little toy for each kid. This year, he must have had a hard time finding Lucky Charms, so he left each kid a tall bottle of bubbles and a bag of M&Ms! (A box of cereal only lasts through one breakfast at our house anyway!) The boys could hardly wait to go out and blow bubbles. They were excited to wear green, too. The girls were a little disappointed, because they could only wear green ACCESSORIES! (Hair bows, earrings, socks - things like that, because they wear uniforms and the school said they had to stay in dress code, other than green accessories. They were mighty put out!) But they changed as soon as they got home. Eryn chose to really wear some green, but Kaitlyn chose to go the subtle route with just some green stripes on her pink shirt. Of course they all had fun activities at school, including Hayden. He had to make a Leprechaun trap to take to school. They set their traps, and the Leprechaun got away, but left them a little gold!

Oh I wish I knew where that pot of gold came from. He got it at preschool. I'll have to ask his teacher :)
That is so cute. What a fun Tradition, way to go Aunt Jodie! I'll have to remember that one.
