Kaitlyn has been in 3rd grade this year, and much to our surprise, the 3rd grade decided to do a little mini science fair. The kids had to do a science fair project to share with their class and the other classes. They had to come up with a question, hypothesis, etc... do the experiment... and make a poster. We did a little searching, and decided to find out what polishes dirty pennies. This sounded fairly easy, and since we have such a crazy schedule at our house, the easier the better! We came up with a bunch of household cleaning solutions or other liquids, and decided to test them out to see which one would work the best. It ended up being really fun. By the time we were done, Kaitlyn wanted to get every dirty penny in the house and polish them all! We found out the Lemon Juice worked the best.

Hey that's cool...I just had to give a baptism talk and it was on being a Shiny Penny. I used vinegar...maybe I'll change it around next time and use Lemon Juice!
Hmmm...... so when Tay is in 3rd grade I just might have to remember this one. Lemon Juice huh? All naturaaal! Love the pics.
Wow, that is a great idea for a science project. Cute pictures!
I am just going to copy all of the projects that the Stafford kids do, when it comes time for my kiddos to do projects. What a fun idea!! It sounds like cute Kaitlyn had a fun time shining up pennies!
What a good idea for an experiment! I can't believe they already have science fair in third grade!
