Spring Soccer

I love being a soccer mom. As crazy and hectic as is sometimes gets, I love watching my kids playing and improving. As far as Spring Soccer goes... the jury is still out. This is the first year that the city has offered Spring soccer, and I would have been fine getting a bit further into Spring before starting. This year it has been SO cold, that several of the games we nearly FROZE! Those of us shivering on the sidelines in our coats and blankets wondered if it was a good idea, but those kids out on the field running around were having the time of their life! Eryn even played one game in pouring rain... we watched from the van, but she thought it was really fun! Each of our kids has come so far with their soccer skills. Bryson started when he was 4... chasing his shadow instead of the ball, chatting with kids from the other team, watching airplanes in the sky - this year he scored in almost every game! And his goalie skills have really improved. Jared coached both girls' teams again this year (assistant coaching Eryns, head coaching K's) and the girls love him. Kaitlyn has gotten really good. She has a friend whose parents promise her a candy bar for each goal she scores... Kaitlyn got to where she was scoring so many, that I told her I'd give her a Hershey Kiss for each goal... I couldn't afford that many candy bars! I need to pay up... she earned quite a few! Eryn has come such a long way. She is really enjoying what she has learned, and at the end of the season was becoming a great goalie! She hadn't dared to try before, but the last few games she decided to play goalie and did really well. Her other skills keep improving each season. She scored several goals, too! Here are some pictures I took on one of the not-as-freezing-cold days! (By the end of the season, I have to say, it was really warm... I even got a really bad sunburn a couple of weeks ago!)
